Somehow, Camden Houdini escaped from the child safety gate and wandered across the house into the kitchen with ONE mission--- Mission accomplished--- to eat dirt from the house plant for the 2nd time today. Does that taste good? Oh, and I had watered it early this morning so the dirt was muddy, especially when he wiped it all over my face while carrying him to the sink for Operation Wash-off.

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL
Every day I try to have some floor time with the boys where I allow them to climb all over me as we exchange hugs & kisses. I thought I would keep the camera close by, inconspicuously. That was to no avail. As soon as I tried to snap a shot, the boys were like magnets. They reached for the camera and even smiled their "cheesy smiles", so inconspicuous was out the window!

Never a Dull Moment
I know, I know--you're probably gasping, wondering if Cayden can breath under there. Oh yes. He loves to cover his face when he sleeps. He is sleeping on his back, one arm hanging out of his crib. I guess he gets tired of hearing Camden talk & whine before he falls asleep!
Another part of a typical day.... Camden is squeezing Cayden's cheeks and then resorts to hair pulling and shirt tugging. Don't feel too bad for Cayden--when he thinks I'm not watching, he'll grab a hard toy and knock his brother upside the head. Life with twins....
Ah, yes. The newest thing: Cayden pulls off his p.j.'s, opens the pantry door, then tosses his p.j.'s into the trash. While he's in there, he usually stares at all their snacks while he & Camden say "Mmmmm"
The view is a little off, but here is Camden standing on his own. He hasn't taken a step yet, but he will stand without assistance. I can't even imagine how crazy life will become when they are walking--better yet running from me in different directions! Life with twins: NEVER a dull moment!

PEEK-A-BOO
I walked into the living room to check on the boys and this is what I found-- Yes, all by themselves, playing peek-a-boo with the throw blanket from the sofa. Who would have thought that they would have so much fun playing with a blanket?! I wish you could have heard the roaring laughter from these two little monkeys!
Cayden under the blanket.
Who turned out the lights?
Camden trying to get a piece of blanket fun
Camden finally pulling Cayden down.
Cayden is laughing hysterically.
Peek-a-boo! There's Cayden!!

Our own little hurricanes
Who needs Ike when we have our own little hurricanes?! It happens so fast.... I am cleaning up a mess they've made else-where in the house. Then I come to find them in a heap of their toys and clothes as they smile big toothy grins. Oh well; I'd rather be cleaning after a pair of healthy happy boys than to have an empty clean house. Maybe a maid?

Awaiting Hurricane Ike
What a crazy time we had this past week. We decided to visit my family near the Corpus Christi area only to be evacuated because of the impending arrival of Ike. My family evacuated to San Antonio and moment after we arrived, the news said San Antonio is NOT the place to evacuate to. Well, we were ready to ride it out. Scott was in Tyler and I knew I was at least a couple hours closer to home. So we prepared for Ike.... The boys laughed and played with their Aunts and their cousins. They loved when their cousin Ryan would blow bubbles! No fear of Mr. Ike around here!

Musical Boys
Camden & Cayden received these music shakers from their Grandpa & Nana Boerger. They have loved playing with them. They have started "dancing" side to side and they even try to snap their fingers! Cayden puckers his lips and "Ooooo's" his own song, often in a very high pitch. They must be mimicking me!
Labor Day Fun!!
Every year on Labor Day weekend, our Life Group gets together. We all met here in Tyler and we knew that with our young families, we would more than likely move away at some time in our lives. Sure enough, the winds have blown and only 2 of our families have remained in Tyler.
We thought it would be great to get together every year to catch up, pray, sing, laugh and watch our families grow. Here are the Schapansky, Allaire, Childs & Boerger families:
Jeff plaid his guitar as all the kids danced and sang (yes the big kids, too!). Cayden really loves music! He picked up his tambourine and bell rattles and "sang" along. His eyes were fixed on Jeff as he passionately strummed his guitar.

The Great Outdoors
Don't they just look like big boys?! Cayden, Camden & I went for a stroll in the neighborhood. It occurred to me that the boys have never experienced grass before, so.....
