A Magic Carpet Ride

The days have been so hot and the sun doesn't set until almost 9pm. This makes for really long, monotonous days for the boys, so Daddy invented a new way-of-play for the boys-- a magic carpet ride! The boys loved it!! They laughed and squeeled as the magic carpet spinned, turned, sped up and slowed down. Daddy declined to wear a turban and pin the boys' stuffed monkey onto his shoulder as his very own Abu. That's okay, the boys (& Mommy) loved it none the less!

Cayden, did you have fun??

Brotherly Love-- I think??!?

Throughout the day, every day, the boys engage in wrestling. They are both instigators but Cayden has become the one to look out for. Once, Scott & I were wondering why Camden had wet polka-dot spots on the back and booty area of his clothes. We figured out that Cayden kept trying to bite him, hence the "wet spots" of saliva. There have even been a few times when Cayden has bitten a piece of Camden's diaper off!! So, we thought it would be fun to catch them in the act. Cayden lets his brother win this one. Ahhh, brotherly love..... I think.

I often wonder, "What's so funny?!"

I often wonder, "What's so funny?!" when I hear the boys giggling until they escalate into loud laughter. I wonder what is going on their precious little heads? Twins are quite unique in that they ALWAYS seem to know what the inside joke is all about! The boys are 1 month away from their first birthday. Soon, they'll be talking in normal language, I hope. Here are a couple of fun pics I quickly snapped when they were laughing & carrying on.

Twin Mischief

The house was rather quiet; no little voices and no sounds clanking hands on the tile floor. I tiptoe to the kitchen but the boys are not there. I check the laundry room but no little people in there either. I head down the hallway into their bedroom assuming that they are playing with their toys. Nope. Not there either. Where, oh where could they be? But then, a faint little giggle.... Where is it coming from?? Somehow they managed to make their way past our bedroom, into our bathroom where they managed to pull Daddy's closet door open. That's right, Houdini's already!
Later that day......Where is the laundry basket?? I had it right here! It couldn't have just grown legs and walked off! Again, I hear little giggles coming from the living room. Somehow, they tag-teamed to drop it on its side and drag it from the bathroom, past the bedroom, down the hallway, around the sofa & into the living room. I even found their little Tonka trucks inside (thanks Barb!).

Can you say "Busted!!"

We had some great summer fun this past weekend. The boys are big fans of water and love their new swimming pool (thanks Uncle Tom & Aunt Mel)! The boys enjoyed some play time with their Uncle Randy and then enjoyed a 3-hour nap! Boy do we love that!!

They Just Keep Growing!!

I am so amazed at how fast time flies. The boys are 11 months old and boy are our hands full!! Camden & Cayden are starting to pull up on everything! They are waving bye-bye, though Cayden does it with both hands. My camera is temporarily out-of-order, so as soon as we can get that up & running I will post more pics.

I noticed my last entry was about our Colorado trip over 4th of July. Well, lets just say we hit a bump in the road of life.... we came home & a day later we were all sick with a stomach virus. That's right--ALL of us. Scott & I were done with Montezuma's Revenge after about 3 days, but the boys suffered for 9 days-- they had "explosives" in what should have been their diaper, although it was almost never contained in there. Don't you just love that visual?! We are all better now, so I'll get back to work on blogging--- suprised I haven't heard you complain yet, George!! Four weeks till the boys 1st Birthday Party!!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!! We are enjoying our day, surrounded by family & friends in beautiful Colorado. What a great way to celebrate! We're grilling out and mingling, while everyone is waiting their turn to meet the boys. I might have to split the photos up into several postings.

Love, from Cooper Mountain

Front of house, looking toward the South West
The house; the casita on the Left is separate from the house
Sunset with view of the valley
As I breathed in the fresh air, I was reminded of all the beautiful things that we forget about in our busy lives. The beautiful horizon, the rocks & boulders, swarms of hummingbirds, beautiful pink & purple sunsets...... it puts me back in my place. I am a speck of dust in the ornate and intricate creation of this world. All of the things we worry about and the hectic rush of daily lives is but a speck on this timeline. We should enjoy what God has created, even if for a moment. No wonder this is where the origin of America the Beautiful began! "Oh Beautiful, for spacious skies..."

A Day in Colorado Springs

Today was a busy day! We went to George's work to meet his co-workers. They are so sweet and several of them lent us the major necessities for the boys. Thank you all for being so generous! Then we headed to the Xeriscape Garden where Linda volunteers. What a great group of friends! Thanks, Leslie, for the pack-n-play! Everyone was such a joy to meet and the boys loved all the attention. Ann, I can't wait to see pics of your new grandbaby!

Across from the garden is Garden of the Gods. I love this place! This is just a tiny glimpse, but I couldn't pass it up. Nice place to hike, too!
Then we were off to the mall for a leisurely stroll. Scott & George had the boys and this is how we found them....Yep, they are too heavy to carry so they rented this cute little car!
The boys were flirting with all the ladies as they strolled by. What a day!!

Off to Falcon we go....

Today we are hanging out with the Boergers and we'll spend the night tonight. We are out on the deck in the midst of windy weather. The boys were able to meet Cinnamon, Chad & Cyndi's horse. Their attention was captured by the large chickens.

On the deck are Chad, Scott, Camden & Cayden.

We had a great time and even had a chance to see Cyndi's Mom, Rita. The boys are really blessed to have such a large family that loves them.
