Colorado continued....

Woke up early this morning and went for a 2 mile walk on this road. Who wouldn't want to walk with a view like this?!! It was refreshing.

This is Ripley. She's a sweet old dog. She mostly avoids the boys, but will occasionally come and give them a whiff.

This silly girl is Molly. She LOVES the boys. She treats them as they were her "pups." She also likes to lay under their highchairs hoping that a nibblet of something will fall her way. Boy was she delighted!!

Duck Pond Park-- Colorado

After a nice Sunday breakfast at Ortegas, we went to Duck Pond Park. I guess I forgot to mention that we are staying in Canyon City (near Pueblo & the Royal Gorge). Gramm & Papa posed for a photo with Camden & Cayden. Camden was taking a power nap, so Cayden gets to take the lime light. You snooze, you lose!

Daddy pushing Cayden in the swing at the park.
Way to go Cayden! You look like such a big boy! Here's a proud moment for us: Cayden clapped his hand for the first time this morning during breakfast. He was so excited that he could do it! He beamed from ear to ear! We are so proud of you little man!!

We're off to Colorado!!

We were up bright and early yesterday morning as we headed to Colorado to visit Scott's parents & family for the week. Scott was impressed that I packed only 2 luggage bags, a diaper bag & a small carry on bag. We are excited to have a long vacation! We had a great flight and were welcomed by the Daman's --George & Linda; and the Boerger's --Chad & Cyndi.

Today is the first morning in beautiful Colorado. Here is George cuddling up with Camden & Cayden. Truth be told, sometimes Camden wakes up a little moody. Looks like Camden & Papa have the same hair-do this morning!!

Cayden is checking out his new environment. Love those cute p.j.'s!
Camden still looks a little sleepy! You can see his "do" better in this pic. He and his brother were filled with hugs & kisses from Gramm & Papa Daman.

After breakfast, we headed outside to enjoy the view and the 56-degree weather. Don't be too jealous-- it only lasted a few hours in the mornings but it was pretty consistant through the nights. I love sleeping with the windows open!! Papa is holding Camden, though he doesn't know it. Actually, Papa never knew who he was holding!!

First Haircut!!!

Well, we've had another first-- first haircut. We are going to Colorado in a few days and we needed to get rid of the long hair covering their ears. Since my 2 aunts (salon owners) couldn't visit before our trip, I had to take the plunge. Oh but don't worry... I only cut their bangs and around their ears. They are still waiting for their full (real !!) haircuts! See if you can tell who's who before scrolling down to the answer.

Well, let's see how well you did---
Camden is wearing blue, Cayden is in yellow. Did you get them right?

Bathtime Silly-Willies !!

Our boys are going to be upset with me when they grow up & find out that I plastered this photo on the web for all of our family & friends to see. But who could resist such funny little faces! They love when I take out the camera! Who wouldn't want to laugh with such silliness!

Bicycling???

I am thinking back and I'm realizing that I haven't been on a bike in about 2 1/2 or 3 years. And I'm certainly no athlete, nor have I ever been, so that makes me wonder what on earth made me agree to bicycle 8 miles yesterday?! I've been telling our friend, Bo, that I would love to go with her, but how was I to know that we were going to do 8 miles on a VERY hilly, windy, countryside road? Having said that.....I think it was a great way to start my day! The early morning was beautiful and serene, quiet, filled with rolling meadows and country homes. I think we scared a few horses & cows! It was absolutely perfect ---of course, until I thought I was going to pass out after walking my bike up one of the biggest hills. Picture it: two gals with big bikes; I'm laying flat on my back in the middle of the street with my bike laying beside me while Bo is contemplating how she's going to call my hubby (we didn't bring phones). It was rather amusing, but I have to say it's been the highlight of my week. I loved it! What a great adventure! Hope I got you laughing!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

What a special day today is for Scott! Happy FIRST Father's Day!! I am welled up with tears as I think of what a great Daddy he is. The boys adore their father. He adores them more. Fatherhood seems to bring out the very best in him. I love the life that Scott has built for me and our sons. I cherish the influence he has on Camden & Cayden-- an influence of strength, honor, integrity, faith & love. Happy Father's Day!!

Camden & Cayden also want to wish their Grandfathers and Great-Grandfathers a wonderful Father's Day filled with love and laughter!! "Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father." Proverbs 17:6

Lindsay's visit

My sister-in-law Lindsay (Scott's younger sister) came to visit for a few days. We had a great time catching up. It was so sweet to see her with her nephews. The boys are crazy about her! As many of you may know, Scott & I are trying to convince her and her hubby to move here. If any of you know of a Senior Accountant/Controller position available here or nearby, please let us know.

Lindsay, Camden & Cayden

Here are the Schapansky's with Camden & Cayden. This sweet couple is near and dear to us. They are the first friends we made here in Tyler 6 years ago. The boys are showing off their "Canada" shirts to support our favorite Canadian & his sweet wife. Heather stayed for a girl's-night while Jeff, Scott & Lindsay headed to Dallas. They went to an X-Fighters show where Lindsay's husband was working (trainer), then said good-bye to Lindsay. Miss you!!

French Fries & Sippy Cups

We have now entered a new phase in the boys' lives-- french fries & sippy cups. They look more like toddlers than babies! The time is flying by and soon, the boys will be one year old. I am so blessed to be their Mommy. Scott & I see each new day as an adventure. Of course, it usually is an adventure because the boys are crawling every where, love their walkers and Camden is learning to pull up on furniture. It's true-- they each head different directions! Every day is a marathon for me, but it gives me great joy that our boys are healthy and happy. So HOORAY for Camden & Cayden as they venture to french fries & sippy cups!!

Watching Angels Sleep

I had a moment this morning where I really wanted to see my babies sleeping. Who knew angels could be so cute and sweet?! I just stood there, smiling and chuckling, then filling up with tears. Yeah, I know, so much mushyness, but I can't help it. Our little boys are growing so fast. Their personalities are becoming more defined. They are trying out their sippy cups, new car seats, bigger blankies; what's next? School, college, marriage? Yikes!! NO MORE THINKING AHEAD!! So here we have it.... Cayden in the top 2 pics and Camden in the bottom 2.

Also, at their 9-month doctor visit, we found that both boys weigh 23lbs, 2oz. Camden is 30 inches long, Cayden 30 1/2. Needless to say, they are "off the charts"! So greatful for healthy happy babies!

Laughter is great for the soul

I love laughter. I love listening to all the different laughs of people. We had dinner with our friends The Edwards, whom are also our next door neighbors. We laughed the night away and it was great! There's always a story to tell; isn't that what life is all about? The story of our lives....it's where we've been on this journey that's worth sharing. So this is a thank you for letting us share out life journey with you. Laughter is great for the soul! Camden (top) & Cayden (bottom) certainly agree. What are you waiting for??
