Pre-Programmed

As a Mommy of little toddler boys, I am amazed at how the genetic pre-programming of wrestling, grunting, punching & other boyish play has formed a predisposition to male character. It never ceases to amaze me how Cayden & Camden "know" how to wrestle and tackle each other. It usually starts with one doing something silly to make Mommy & Daddy laugh such as this: Then, in an effort to dominate and win back the Attention Territory that was lost, the other will begin his attack, such as Camden taking down his brother below:

The heavier one reciprocates, leaving Camden virtually like a pancake below him:

And when the match is over & the boyish play is done, the hugs ensue without prompting. What a precious bond between brothers-- the twin brotherhood.

This & That

Remember that old saying, "Monkey see, Monkey do"? Well, it's a staple in our house! Camden (above) decided to wear his sunglasses to lunch. Cayden (below) threw a fit until we put his sunglasses on his face too.

Now if only they'd carry this new found hobby through the rest of their lives! Aren't there child labor laws for this???

Through the moving process, we found that we have misplaced the china hutch glass doors. Needless to say, the boys have found their new hiding place. Why "hiding place"? Because I frantically searched our house for the boys for about 5-6 whole minutes. That's a lot of time when your looking for 2 quiet toddlers! There they were, tucked into the hutch, smiling as they saw their frazzled Mommy searching high & low!

Refusing to Compromise

There are times in life when we are forced to compromise. Whether it be with our children, a restaurant that is out of your favorite side dish or keeping the peace with your spouse, we learn to compromise. And many times, compromising is good. But then there are those other times....

Scott took a job in San Antonio that promised many good outcomes. We were delighted to take that job, uproot our family & move nearly 300 miles away to be closer to family & have a fresh new work environment. Unfortunately, the company was dishonest & expected Scott to compromise his integrity for the company. Thankfully, I have an honest husband who is not willing to lower his standards of ethics, morals & honesty for ANYONE. A few hours before he was to give his 2 weeks notice, he was fired for his unwillingness to participate in such behavior.

Can I just say that I have never been more proud of my husband than I am now?! What an example he is setting for our children! So, we are moving back to Tyler where our house is still unsold. He has options & my Chief Nursing Officer of the hospital I worked for is welcoming me back--no hassels, no paperwork, zip, zilch, nada. We are truly going to miss being with family, but for now, we are heading to Tyler, Uhaul & all.
