A Little Bit of Camden

As Scott & I were enjoying our take-out, we noticed that the boys were giggling softly, which often means mischief just as much as quietness does. We came to the living room to find them playing with the take-out bag. Camden was relentlessly trying to get inside. Once inside, Cayden tried to "push" him as though the bag had wheels, causing Camden to topple over. Scott & I were laughing so hard, we had tears rolling down our faces. They are so funny! We never know what they'll think of next!

A Little Bit of Cayden-ader

I thought to myself, "Ahhh, how sweet; those precious boys are laughing hysterically at one another from their beds!" They were waking from a nap and the contagious giggles followed by loud laughter echoed the house. "I wonder what's so funny?!" So I tip-toed to their room, slowly and quietly turned their door nob and took a tiny peek. Behold, there it was..... the source of so much laughter:

Yes, there he was; proud and smiling because he figured out how to put his shirt over his well-endowed head! Then, later, he had crawled on top of the bed rail on all fours and was about to dive for a book on his shelf. Mommy & Daddy caught him just in time before he dove! Now the boys have their mattresses as low as they can go! Thanks Cayden!!

Boys' Baby Dedication

This was a special Sunday at our church for us. Today we dedicated the boys at church. We promised to raise them in the instruction of the Lord with the help of those who share the same faith in Christ. The boys each received a Bible with their name engraved on the front, a certificate and a letter that is to be opened when they are 12 years old.
We were so grateful to be able to dedicate them at our church where our dear friends have become family. As many of you know, we are in the process of moving from Tyler to San Antonio, so it was extra special to dedicate the boys here before we relocate.

The Pumpkin Patch

Right before dusk, we went to Bell Family Farm where the boys experienced their first pumpkin patch. The boys had fun crawling around the pumpkins, trying to take a bite out of them.

I love that after crawling around, they managed to find each other again at this pumpkin.

Cards that Sing

The boys were so excited to get a Halloween card from their Gramm & Papa Daman. When they opened the card, the music would play. They figured out how to do it themselves, so they danced and "read" their card and then swapped with each other. Don't they look like such studious boys?!

READY FOR HALLOWEEN 2008

Scott & I thought it might be a good idea to put the boys in their costumes BEFORE Halloween, just in case we ended up with meltdowns. It was so much fun! We took them around the neighborhood in their favorite wagon and had lots of lookers! In the beginning, they cried after they realized that their brother had an animal on his head. But after a few kisses from Mommy and Daddy to the "animals", they soon realized that it was safe. Scott & I have spent endless moments of laughter over these 2 little guys!

Here is Camden the Dragon, Ooooo!
RRROARR! Here is Cayden the Dinosaur

Does it get any better than this?!

Nanny, Anyone????

When I left the room, the boys were happily playing with their musical toys, completely entertained. Perfect--- or so I thought. After only 3 minutes at the most, I walk back into the living room and was HORRIFIED when I saw this! They have never done this before! So as I inhaled all the air in the room, I ran for the camera first, before taking them off. I know, I know, but Gramm & Papa always ask if I took a picture when I tell them of these "great adventures"!

50th Anniversary, continued....

What a beautiful celebration! My grandparents looked spectacular! 5o years of memories and legacy....
Grandpa singing with the Mariachi Band;
He loves to sing!

my Great-aunt Lina is in the background. They are my grandma's sisters.
Lina is the twin in our family.

Camden after the party. He took his brother's blankie, too!

I was honored (and a little flustered) to do the presentation for the ceremony. The most memorable part was the stones that we each presented my grandparents with. Though they looked like ordinary stones, they were symbolic. In the book of Joshua, Joshua had appointed a man from each tribe to take up a stone from the midst of the sea that God had parted so that it would be a memorial of what God had done. Then when their children would ask "What do these stones mean to you?", they could remember the blessings from the hand of the LORD our God.

What do your spiritual stones mean?

Garza's 50th Anniversary Celebration

My grandparents are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a big celebration! On our way to Alice, we successfully avoided a potential disaster from a large tire tread from an 18-wheeler. After that scare, we were rear-ended at a stop light by a large, white suburban. We were all safe, though Cayden was having difficulty catching his breath and trembling. They have both had nightmares since, but thankfully, we came away with only soreness and repairable damage to our car.
So, after all of that, here we are getting ready for the celebration. Cayden continued to be fussy after the accident, as seen below.

Loving our Boys!!

What can I say.... we just love our boys. They were wrestling on the floor and then all of a sudden, Camden leaned in to kiss his brother-- unprompted! Cayden thought it would be fun to blow into his brother's face, much like we do to cool off their hot food. Thankfully, I had the camera close by to catch the sweet, brotherly moment.

HOW DO THEY GET THESE IDEAS?!

I walked into the living room to check on my very-well-behaved-never-mischievous boys. I couldn't believe what they were doing! They somehow decided that they would take turns trying to fit into their plastic blocks box. Of course, what one does, the other must try to do as well. If I hadn't have caught it on camera, it would have been hard to believe! Where does this come from? Where do they get these ideas? Oh, my, what will be next???
Cam in box

Now Cayden trying to copy brother. By the way, he pulled his brother out by the back of his shirt.

Cam trying to reclaim his new found territory; Cayden still enjoying his seat in the box.

Camden has won the battle for his box. Of all the toys for him to play with, he chose the plastic box. My thought is, "What ever keeps him occupied!"

Learning their Bounds

Still learning their bounds.... they love to crawl beneath chairs and tables; they've tried getting underneath the sofa, but their heads are just a tad too big; they lift one leg on top of the fireplace hearth to reach their hands inside and play with the black soot; they crawl over boxes, have attempted to get into the dryer when I was pulling out finished load; when they get tired of a toy, they simply toss it under their bed-- outta sight is outta mind right?
