50th Anniversary, continued....

What a beautiful celebration! My grandparents looked spectacular! 5o years of memories and legacy....

He loves to sing!

Lina is the twin in our family.

Camden after the party. He took his brother's blankie, too!

I was honored (and a little flustered) to do the presentation for the ceremony. The most memorable part was the stones that we each presented my grandparents with. Though they looked like ordinary stones, they were symbolic. In the book of Joshua, Joshua had appointed a man from each tribe to take up a stone from the midst of the sea that God had parted so that it would be a memorial of what God had done. Then when their children would ask "What do these stones mean to you?", they could remember the blessings from the hand of the LORD our God.

What do your spiritual stones mean?

Garza's 50th Anniversary Celebration

My grandparents are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a big celebration! On our way to Alice, we successfully avoided a potential disaster from a large tire tread from an 18-wheeler. After that scare, we were rear-ended at a stop light by a large, white suburban. We were all safe, though Cayden was having difficulty catching his breath and trembling. They have both had nightmares since, but thankfully, we came away with only soreness and repairable damage to our car.
So, after all of that, here we are getting ready for the celebration. Cayden continued to be fussy after the accident, as seen below.

Loving our Boys!!

What can I say.... we just love our boys. They were wrestling on the floor and then all of a sudden, Camden leaned in to kiss his brother-- unprompted! Cayden thought it would be fun to blow into his brother's face, much like we do to cool off their hot food. Thankfully, I had the camera close by to catch the sweet, brotherly moment.

HOW DO THEY GET THESE IDEAS?!

I walked into the living room to check on my very-well-behaved-never-mischievous boys. I couldn't believe what they were doing! They somehow decided that they would take turns trying to fit into their plastic blocks box. Of course, what one does, the other must try to do as well. If I hadn't have caught it on camera, it would have been hard to believe! Where does this come from? Where do they get these ideas? Oh, my, what will be next???

Now Cayden trying to copy brother. By the way, he pulled his brother out by the back of his shirt.

Cam trying to reclaim his new found territory; Cayden still enjoying his seat in the box.

Camden has won the battle for his box. Of all the toys for him to play with, he chose the plastic box. My thought is, "What ever keeps him occupied!"

Learning their Bounds

Still learning their bounds.... they love to crawl beneath chairs and tables; they've tried getting underneath the sofa, but their heads are just a tad too big; they lift one leg on top of the fireplace hearth to reach their hands inside and play with the black soot; they crawl over boxes, have attempted to get into the dryer when I was pulling out finished load; when they get tired of a toy, they simply toss it under their bed-- outta sight is outta mind right?

Does That Taste Good??

Somehow, Camden Houdini escaped from the child safety gate and wandered across the house into the kitchen with ONE mission--- Mission accomplished--- to eat dirt from the house plant for the 2nd time today. Does that taste good? Oh, and I had watered it early this morning so the dirt was muddy, especially when he wiped it all over my face while carrying him to the sink for Operation Wash-off.

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

Every day I try to have some floor time with the boys where I allow them to climb all over me as we exchange hugs & kisses. I thought I would keep the camera close by, inconspicuously. That was to no avail. As soon as I tried to snap a shot, the boys were like magnets. They reached for the camera and even smiled their "cheesy smiles", so inconspicuous was out the window!

Life with boys is so much fun! They try to test their boundaries often, making parenting a little difficult, but they are full of laughter and smiles. We love you boys!!!

Never a Dull Moment

I know, I know--you're probably gasping, wondering if Cayden can breath under there. Oh yes. He loves to cover his face when he sleeps. He is sleeping on his back, one arm hanging out of his crib. I guess he gets tired of hearing Camden talk & whine before he falls asleep!
Another part of a typical day.... Camden is squeezing Cayden's cheeks and then resorts to hair pulling and shirt tugging. Don't feel too bad for Cayden--when he thinks I'm not watching, he'll grab a hard toy and knock his brother upside the head. Life with twins....

Ah, yes. The newest thing: Cayden pulls off his p.j.'s, opens the pantry door, then tosses his p.j.'s into the trash. While he's in there, he usually stares at all their snacks while he & Camden say "Mmmmm"

The view is a little off, but here is Camden standing on his own. He hasn't taken a step yet, but he will stand without assistance. I can't even imagine how crazy life will become when they are walking--better yet running from me in different directions! Life with twins: NEVER a dull moment!

PEEK-A-BOO

I walked into the living room to check on the boys and this is what I found-- Yes, all by themselves, playing peek-a-boo with the throw blanket from the sofa. Who would have thought that they would have so much fun playing with a blanket?! I wish you could have heard the roaring laughter from these two little monkeys!

Cayden under the blanket.
Who turned out the lights?
Camden trying to get a piece of blanket fun

Camden finally pulling Cayden down.

Cayden is laughing hysterically.

Peek-a-boo! There's Cayden!!
